How does the construction of feminine sexuality as passive and masculine sexuality as active reinforce gender inequality? What evidence challenges cultural understandings of passive feminine sexuality and active masculine sexuality?

What will be an ideal response?

Varies. Men as sexual subjects, have greater power and agency in their own bodies. Men act in
their bodies. Women as objects are thought to be acted upon, the passive recipients of sexual
objectification. Girls and boys may internalize those ideas which contribute to gender inequality. Men
who abstain from sexual relations until marriage and women consumers at female strip clubs
challenge socially constructed views of masculine and feminine sexuality.
