Why is methamphetamine a profitable drug for Mexican organized crime?
What will be an ideal response?
Mexican cartels' diversified operations in heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamine, enable them to profitably use the same distribution networks for methamphetamine.
They have access to the necessary precursor chemicals on the international market because these chemicals have fewer controls in Mexico than in the US. The cartels have large-scale laboratories in Mexico and in the western and southwestern United States.
They dominate wholesale methamphetamine trafficking and do not have to share those profits with the Colombians.
