Penelope takes classes at a community college during the day and works as a waitress at a very busy restaurant at night. She has performed well in school but has hassles at work that leave her feeling very stressed and anxious. She has very long days, and after she gets home from work, she tends to drink alcohol to de-stress and forget about her day. Sometimes she goes out with friends and sometimes she drinks alone. During finals week she found herself drinking more than usual and feeling sick while taking her exams. She felt depressed, and when she got her grades she knew she had to change her drinking habit to be more successful in school and in life. As Penelope's friend, use what you have learned in the chapter to offer her at least five strategies to help her overcome this negative
habit.
