Explain the pros and cons related to hypereutectic pistons.
What will be an ideal response?
Hypereutectic casting increases the temperature fatigue resistance of the piston. The piston can be made thinner and lighter than most cast aluminum pistons. Their strength falls in between cast and forged. The pistons run hotter than cast which could cause detonation problems.
