Suppose your town planned to build a combustion facility or landfill near your home. Outline your concerns, and explain your decision to be for or against the site

What will be an ideal response?

One issue that students should address is how wastes should be handled, not just where they should (not) be placed. While a combustion facility or a landfill might be inappropriate for a particular location, it is necessary to process our wastes. There are additional impacts (e.g., air quality, noise, resource use from transportation) to be considered if wastes are to be transported away from an area because it is too "sensitive" for use as a disposal or recycling site.
