The crime control model emphasizes values such as efficiency, speed, and finality, while the due process model emphasizes reliability. The crime control model relies on an informal process of adjudication by screening cases through police and prosecutors. The due process model has a more formal adjudication process and focuses on the issues surrounding the adversarial procedures of a case. Finally, the crime control model is more concerned with factual guilt, while the due process model is more concerned with legal guilt.
