For example, the successful identification of genetic markers for criminality might well lead parents trying for the “perfect child” to abort fetuses carrying such markers. This issue has already arisen in the case of markers for serious diseases, and it may be just a matter of time before it surfaces as a means of producing more “domesticated” children.
