• Irv's four domains falls under four categories career, affective, cognitive-behavioral and culture. Career development is accompanied by addressing personal needs. The rationale is to help enhance progress that is designed to moderate personal problems in careers.
• In moderating personal problems in careers the therapist can use trait-oriented counseling, developmental counseling, social learning and cognitive counseling, and person-in-environment counseling.
• the affective domain is used to control emotions and can used by the following strategies client-centered therapy, Gestalt experiments, Existential therapy, psychodynamic therapies. Cognitive-behavioral has a major emphasis on addressing cognitive schemas and their influence on behavior.
• emphasizing the cognitive schemas the therapist can use behavioral counseling, cognitive restructuring, rational-emotive therapy, reality therapy, and Beck's cognitive therapy. The cultural domain includes negative perceptions of all life roles by socioeconomic status.
• In the need of exposure to more positive life roles and the benefits of life style the therapist can use culturally based interventions and multicultural counseling.
