Explain how a painter’s transfer efficiency affects the paint cost of a paint department.

What will be an ideal response?

Paint transfer efficiency is a measurement of how efficiently a painter and the equipment can transfer the liquid paint from the spraying equipment to the object being painted. The higher transfer efficiency that a painter can develop, the more cost efficient the paint department will become. The higher transfer efficiency a spray painter can develop, the less paint he or she will use for each application. Besides saving the business the cost of wasted paint, high paint transfer efficiency also results in less paint being emitted into overspray in the booth. The less overspray that is emitted, the longer
the booth filters will last; thus, additional business expenses are saved on disposal and filter replacement.
