Explain the three purposes served by supporting material
What will be an ideal response?
Supporting materials give ideas clarity, vividness, and credibility. Clarity, the
exactness of a message, assists a speaker in communicating ideas so that listeners can
understand them. Vividness, using supporting materials that are memorable and intense, helps
listeners remember your ideas. Credibility, the dependability or believability of a speaker or
the speaker's sources, makes listeners more likely to believe a message.
