What occurs at the terminal boutons of a neuron?

What will be an ideal response?

At the terminal bouton the neuron communicates with another cell. The terminal bouton occurs at the distal ends of the axon or collaterals of a nerve cell. Synaptic vesicles in the terminal boutons store neurotransmitters and release them in response to the arrival of an an action potential at the terminal bouton.
