b. allogeneic d. heterogenous
C
A treatment option for the client with HD is a bone marrow transplant (BMT) or peripheral blood stem cell transplant. A bone marrow transplant and high-dose chemotherapy are used together. The chemotherapy destroys the client's bone marrow. Prior to chemotherapy, some marrow is removed from the client's bone and frozen. After the chemotherapy treatments are completed, the marrow is thawed and injected into the client's vein to replace the bone marrow destroyed with the treatments. When the client's marrow is used, it is called an autologous transplant.
