How has the cultural norms shifted in terms of attitudes toward anal stimulation?
What will be an ideal response?
A popular belief among heterosexuals is that only gay men practice anal intercourse and oral-anal stimulation, called anilingus. Part of this belief is also that all gay men engage in anal intercourse as part of their sexual activities. The reality is that while anal intercourse is the least common of sexual activities discussed here, it is rising in popularity among heterosexuals. In recent years, anal sex among heterosexuals has risen in frequency so much so that the news media has suggested that anal sex is the "new oral sex". While there hasn't been a formal study of public interest or opinion of heterosexual anal sex, the vast materials available in addition to the references in popular culture suggest that we might be seeing a shift in cultural norms.
