What role does race play in how we view and engage in politics?

What will be an ideal response?

From the beginning of the political socialization process whites and blacks have different experiences. Whereas for blacks such things as whether or not the police are their friends or that the system deserves their loyalty are not always clear. Disparities in political rights and income also impact views between the races. Blacks tend to view certain types of social spending more favorably. Responses should also address the long history of racial discrimination and bias and the resultant ideological gulf that continues to exist between whites and blacks as a result. Party affiliation and its relationship to economic status should also be discussed.
