Why is recreation important to prison life?
What will be an ideal response?
Recreation programs are good for prisoners: They help to accomplish the mission of rehabilitation to the extent that they teach inmates social skills such as engaging in fair competition, working together, and building self-esteem. They are also part of the reward and punishment system that helps to enforce prison discipline. Few inmates want to lose their recreation privileges.
