Explain the difference between sorting and filtering data in Access.

What will be an ideal response?

To sort data means to rearrange the records in a table in alphabetical or numeric order. Once you indicate the field you want to sort on, you can choose whether to sort records from ascending to descending (numeric) or from A-Z or Z-A (alphabetical). Sorting is simply a way to view records. To filter data is to extract specific information from the database. Filtering allows you to see only the records you wish to see. To filter data, you must set criteria, or conditions that must be met for the record (s) to be displayed.
