Explain how the Constitution protects our right to privacy. Discuss Griswold v. Connecticut (1965), Stanley v. Georgia (1969), and Lawrence v. Texas (2003)

What will be an ideal response?

The right to privacy cannot be found in specific language in the Constitution. It is a right that bans governmental invasions into the sanctity of one's home. The Supreme Court has ruled that the right to privacy emanates from six constitutional amendments: the First (freedom of religion, speech, and association), the Third (ban on quartering soldiers in private homes), Fourth (protection against unreasonable searches and seizures), the Ninth (the rights enumerated in the Constitution shall not be construed to deny other rights retained by the people), the Fifth and Fourteenth (due process right to liberty).
