Electronic documents can now be created, stored, and distributed with a single keystroke. For example, a single email sent to an individual's address book can result in hundred of copies of that email, as well as hundreds of replies from recipients. Critical evidence could be buried within those documents, so all must be produced and reviewed. In addition, electronically stored information has reduced retention costs.
