How do women cope with prison life differently from men?

What will be an ideal response?

Women cope with prison life differently from men. It is harder for women to adjust to prison. Women value privacy more than men do, so communal living, numerous rules, and body searches are more difficult for women trying to adjust to prison life. They also do not have the same levels of support from spouses and family that male inmates tend to have. Female inmates develop emotional intimacy with other inmates to create a quasi-family pattern to help meet their familial needs. They develop power and authority relationships using the family model of relationships. Sexual relations between women are more about mutual affection and caring relationships than the dominance and force that characterize homosexual activity in male prisons.
