Explain the steps required for the sense of taste to reach the brain.

Various molecules enter into the mouth and are detected by the taste buds located on the tongue. The microvilli project into the taste pore. They pick up the molecule and transfer the sensation to the taste cells which relay it to the associated sensory nerve fiber. The nerve fiber will relay the information to the brain where it is interpreted as taste.
