Your friend has a cold and wants to know if he can still work out. What is your response?

What will be an ideal response?

He can, as long as he does not have a fever and the symptoms he is experiencing are from the neck up. He should put off higher-intensity exercise for a few days, but otherwise he can work out at a slower pace or for a shorter duration. If the symptoms indicate the flu (fever, extreme tiredness, muscle aches, swollen lymph glands), then he should take some additional time off.
