Explain how to use a Pareto diagram.

What will be an ideal response?

Constructing a Pareto diagram requires six simple steps; (1) identify the method you want to use to classify the data, (2) determine if frequency or cost is to be used to rank the data, (3) collect data, (4) summarize and rank the data, (5) calculate cumulative percent, (6) construct the Pareto diagram and identify the critical few. The Pareto is a quality tool designed to identify a problem and measure progress.
