One of the greatest needs of children with disabilities and those from some ethnic and racial groups is to be accepted by peers. How would you support a child in making friends and being included??

What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER:
Handle any rejection immediately with support for the child who was rejected; make it clear to the other(s) that this type of behavior will not be permitted. Help children recognize how they are different and how they are alike in positive and nonjudgmental terms. Alleviate the fears of those children who seem afraid of children who are different from them by talking to them and understanding their concerns. Answer all questions simply, truthfully, and honestly. Use children’s own curiosity to further the conversation. Let the child who is being rejected answer as many questions as possible or appropriate. Actively foster acceptance and respect for the individual.?
