Why is the spleen an organ particularly susceptible to rupture in an accident, and why is this such a serious potential problem?

What will be an ideal response?

The spleen is a soft organ, with little internal stiffening structure, and is located in the posterolateral region of the abdominal cavity lateral to the kidneys and posterior to the stomach. It is susceptible to being damaged by blows to the lower lateral back region, near the inferior ribs and inferior to the ribs. Damage to the spleen is a serious problem because the spleen stores a large amount of blood and a rupture can cause a person to bleed to death quickly.
