Explain further why older generations may push back against the shift in demographics in the United States. Include the idea of immigrants coming from a different part of the world today.
What will be an ideal response?
Older generations are more likely to be less used to the idea of fully welcoming in immigrants in the US due to there being a "fear" of them. For many older generations, it was more normal for there to be a less welcoming, more negative feeling towards immigrants or those who had been born in the US from a family that immigrated. As times are continuing to change, and there's a visibly noticeable change in the demographics of the US with people of color starting to outnumber Anglo Americans, older generations are having a a harder time in coming to terms with this shift.
