Describe Lewin’s three types of conflict.

What will be an ideal response?

Lewin investigated conflict experimentally and focused on approach-approach

conflict, avoidance-avoidance conflict, and approach-avoidance conflict. Approach-
approach conflict occurs when a person is attracted to two goals at the same time. An

avoidance–avoidance conflict occurs when a person is repelled by two unattractive
goals at the same time. Finally, an approach–avoidance conflict occurs when a person
is attracted to and repelled by the same goal at the same time.
