What are the procedures followed during a trial?

What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER: Before you are called to testify in court, you should become familiar with the usual procedures followed during a trial. First, your attorney examines you about your qualifications to demonstrate to the court that you are competent as an expert witness or a fact witness. The opposing counsel might then cross-examine you on your qualifications (perhaps in an attempt to discredit you). Next, your attorney guides you through your testimony, and then opposing counsel can cross-examines you on your testimony. Your attorney might then have an opportunity for redirect examination of material addressed in cross-examination. After your testimony, you might be called back to update your testimony, or you might be called as a rebuttal witness.
