The APSAC framework is a set of principles that guides service planning for child welfare cases. The framework has three key principles outlined in the chapter. (1) Evidence-based services are preferred versus “services as usual.” This is referring to the preference to use EBTs versus passive case planning or no treatment. (2)The framework calls for the fewest services needed and the most connected to the concern of child abuse to be prioritized. (3) The least intensive level of care is what should be delivered.
