How do "lumpers" differ from "splitters"?

What will be an ideal response?

"Lumpers" tend to place more or less similar-looking fossil specimens together in more inclusive groups; they tolerate a great deal of diversity in the group. "Splitters" focus on the variation in the fossil record as evidence of distinctive species and tend to argue the existence of a greater number of species.
