Compare and contrast the ethnographic conversation, the depth interview, the focus interview, the narrative interview, and the postmodern interview with regard to their structure, goals, and relationship between the researcher and informant

What will be an ideal response?

Essays should highlight that each of these types of interviews generally use semi-structured and unstructured protocols in comparison to survey research. However, the focus interview can use a standardized interview format. Essays should however point to the finer nuances in how protocols are used by each type. Essays should also discuss the goals of the interviews as stand-alone or sources of triangulation as well as the types of data revealed by each. Finally, essay should outline the role of the researcher in each type. See pages 339-343 for a review of these types of qualitative interviews.
