What will be an ideal response

Describe the four ineffective coping strategies covered in the book. 4 points, 1 for each of the following:
- Learned helplessness: giving up; avoiding a problem may give temporary relief, but often makes matters worse later
- Being aggressive: Some people get angry when something doesn't go their way; this doesn't work because anger fuels more anger and makes people less likely to help you
- Blaming yourself: Even if something is your fault, it is more effective to try and do something about the situation
- Overindulging yourself: alcohol, drugs, food, tobacco, gambling, etc. These may seem to help temporarily, but only lead to additional problems in the future
