Define pulling-levers policies and provide an example of one intervention program that implemented this policy. How was the program implemented and what is the interpretation of the program’s success?

What will be an ideal response?

Pulling levers policies refer to targeted efforts by law enforcement and prosecutors to identify specific individuals and groups at risk of gun violence and sending them a message that these offenses will not be tolerated. Part of the pulling levers practices often involves the implementation of penalty enhancement policies. Penalty enhancement policies stipulate that offenders who use a gun in their offenses can receive longer and stiffer jail and prison sentences because they used a gun. Examples include Project Exile, Project Ceasefire, and Operation Ceasefire.
