What is the difference between a decomposer and a detritivore?

A decomposer is a small organism such as bacteria or fungi that feeds on dead or dying matter. A
detritivore, or scavenger, are usually larger, and are animals that ingest dead organisms, digestive
wastes, and cast-off body parts such as leaves. Examples of detritivores or scavengers are turkey
vultures and earthworms.
