Describe the events occurring during gastrulation. What is the destination of the cells in the three layers?

What will be an ideal response?

During gastrulation, the three cell layers (endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm) develop. The cells of the endoderm will become the lungs and digestive tract. Cells of the mesoderm will become muscle, blood, and bone, and cells of the ectoderm form the skin and the nervous system. The first in-pocketing will ultimately become the anus. At the opposite end of the gastrula are cells that will become the head.
