In a 2010 study, it was found that people tend to respond to stress in two ways through their diets. What are those ways, and how are those ways unhealthy?
The study found that most people either do not eat in response to stress, or they turn to high fat/high sugar/high salt foods. Not eating is not a healthy response because the body continues to need fuel and nutrients, particularly during times of high stress, in order to function properly. Eating more junk food than normal adds pounds and increases our risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and reinforce poor eating habits.
