Describe how an organization can use a social media site such as LinkedIn to hire the best people.

What will be an ideal response?

Organizations use social media sites like LinkedIn to hire the best people more quickly and at a lower cost. For about $900 a month, recruiters can search through 433 million LinkedIn members to find the perfect candidate. The cost of hiring just one new employee runs around $5,000. If an independent recruiting company is involved, that cost can be as high as 10 percent of the new employee's salary. LinkedIn also gives employers access to passive candidates who might not be looking for a job but are a perfect fit for a particular position. Once the employee is hired, the employer can leverage that new employee's social network to hire more candidates just like him or her.
