Explain the basic rationale for the Common Core State Standards Initiative
What will be an ideal response?
The Common Core State Standards are written for English language arts and math. They were developed to provide consistency from state to state regarding what is taught and when. The standards will make it easier for states to share strategies and prompt resource providers to concentrate on one set of standards rather than a set for each state. The standards do not tell teachers how to teach, just what and when.
