What are the differences between a push and a pull strategy?

What will be an ideal response?

A push strategy involves a company using sales forecasts to produce products, putting those products in inventory, and then waiting for orders from the customers. Also referred to as the speculation strategy, an advantage of the push strategy is that a company can achieve economies of scale by producing large batches. In a pull strategy, manufacturing (production) and distribution are based on customer orders. Customer orders drive manufacturing and distribution operation. This strategy is characterized by flexibility and customizing products to meet customer demands, but is more costly. A pull strategy is also known as a responsive strategy.
