What are the processes involved with Neighbor Discovery?
What will be an ideal response?
ND involves a number of processes:
Address Resolution-Discovering the on-link neighbors utilizing Neighbor Solicitation and Neighbor Advertisement messages
Neighbor Unreachability Detection-Determining whether or not a neighbor that a node previously communicated with remains available
Duplicate Address Detection-Determining if the assigned IPv6 address is in use by a node on the current network (on-link) and, if so, providing an error to the system in order to obtain a different IPv6 address
Router Discovery-Nodes discovering their default gateways and their prefixes, if available
Redirect Function-Routers informing hosts that there is a better first-hop in order to send packets to other nodes
