What is meant by the term pro se litigant, and in how many different ways can the increase in pro se litigants affect a family law practice?

What will be an ideal response?

Pro se litigants (in propria persona, pro per) represent themselves in court. It affects family law practices by:
• By-passing them completely (the parties handle their own divorce, start-to-finish);
• Creating issues when the opposing party is appearing pro se and we have to consider the
court’s interest in protecting the pro se litigant’s rights;
• Parties may seek “unbundled legal services” to assist them in some segment of pro se
representation, limiting a firm’s involvement to only part of the action. [6/12]
