? Having a reward system to recognize significant contributions made by workers

? Instituting employee policies that generate a sense of job security

? Allowing workers some control over their schedules-for example, through flextime

? Making the work setting as free of hazards as possible

? Having promotion-from-within policies, training programs, personnel policies that ensure equal opportunity for advancement and education, and good physical facilities and conveniences (lounges, cafeterias, gyms, and the like)
