Gender-role development is defined as "the process whereby children come to acquire the behaviors, attitudes, interests, emotional reactions, and motives that are culturally defined as appropriate for members of their sex" (Perry & Bussey, 1984, p. 26

What is the main implication of this definition with regards to gender?
What will be an ideal response?

Implicit to this definition is the notion that we are not born with gendered-behaviors, attitudes, interests, etc.; rather, we take them on through the daily stream of incoming information from our environment. Such is the nature of learning theory-traits and behaviors are not inborn, we learn them.
