Explain how the physiologically contradictory effects of MDMA make it potentially lethal? What will be an ideal response?

On the one hand, the drug induces a sympathetic (fight or flight) response in the body. Heart rate
quickens, blood pressure increases - generally the metabolic rate increases. In addition, the release of
saliva is inhibited and the mouth gets dry. All this heat and dry mouth induce great thirst. However,
the drug also inhibits both urine formation and urination itself. So in combination, the MDMA user
consumes large amounts of water to combat the first suite of effects, but cannot rid the body of excess
water. This excess water can lead to death.
