Explain how the Patriot Act has made it easier for federal agencies to conduct searches and conduct surveillance during terrorism investigations

What will be an ideal response?

The Patriot Act amends the law to allow the FBI or other federal agencies to obtain warrants for "terrorism" investigations, "chemical weapons" investigations, or "computer fraud and abuse" investigations as long as agents can prove that such actions have a "significant purpose.". In other words, no proof of criminal activity need be provided.
The Patriot Act also gives intelligence agents more leeway when conducting surveillance.
The Patriot Act amends legislation to allow for searches and surveillance if a "significant purpose" of the investigation is intelligence gathering or any other type of antiterrorist activity. The statute also provide federal agents with "roving surveillance authority," which allows them to continue monitoring a terrorist suspect on the strength of the original warrant even in if the suspect moves to another jurisdiction.
