Explain what it means to say that social scientists constitute a large, varied, and complex language community
What will be an ideal response
They have a shared understanding of terminology, the methods of inquiry that are appropriate to those questions, the standards of proof that they expect to be applied, and the ways that the knowledge they generate might be applied to real-world problems and issues. Although as in any community there are notable disagreements, in the broadest sense, the community of social scientists can be distinguished from other large and complex communities, such as the community of physical scientists, the community of artists and writers, and the community of engineers.
