What is the value of teachers understanding that acknowledging gender differences is not the same thing as perpetuating stereotypes?

What will be an ideal response?

We are all afraid of perpetuating stereotypes. But as teachers, we must
acknowledge generalizations, and, specifically, gender differences. Boys and girls are different in so many ways. This doesn't mean that there are characteristics shared by all girls, but there are some shared by most girls. This knowledge helps us plan instruction in ways that meet the needs of more students. Our consciousness of differences should lead to
a variety of teaching styles that are beneficial to all students.
