Give three examples of mistakes in critical thinking that you have personally heard. (Think about TV, radio, movies, etc.) If you have to, invent your own examples.

What will be an ideal response?

In a recent TV ad, a politician running for office used name-calling when talking about his opponent. He called him a "tax lover" because he failed to vote to repeal a tax law, while he himself wasn't present when that vote took place. I heard a movie star use slippery slope reasoning when talking about the effect the press has on her family. She said the press cameras were used so often and in such close proximity that her children were being blinded by the flashbulbs. I don't think that can really happen. I recently heard a soap opera star giving a testimonial to appeal to the public to donate money to a children's relief agency because it was the right thing to do. How do we know it's a legitimate agency and the right thing to do? Many will believe it because of her public status.
