What is an X-linked inheritance pattern? Use a specific example to explain the role of the father and mother in this

unique inheritance pattern and note the differential impact on male and female offspring. What will be an ideal response?

In X linked inheritance patterns, X linked recessive traits are more common in males than
females. A color blind female must have a color blind father and a mother who is either
homozygous or heterozygous for the recessive allele for color blindness. Whereas a color
blind male need only have a mother who is heterozygous for color blindness.
