For manual exfoliation using natural substances, list the necessary equipment and supplies
What will be an ideal response?
Small, non-metal bowl for exfoliation substance
Natural substance of choice (1/4-1/2 cup). If performing a salt glow, use 50 percent fine salt and 50 percent medium-grain salt (sea salt, epsom salt, Dead Sea salt, desert mineral salt). If performing a sugar glow, use table, brown, or raw sugar.
Essential oil(s) of choice. If using an essential oil, a couple drops of a carrier oil will also be needed.
Liquid of choice to make paste or slurry (water, milk, yogurt, oil, etc.)
3 cloth sheets, sized for a double bed or larger; could also use 2 sheets and 2 large towels, approximately 30" x 60"
If there is no access to a shower, a basin of warm water and 3-4 towels, approximately 18" x 30", are needed for substance removal. A towel cabi or crock pot filled with moist towels can also be used. More than 3-4 towels may be necessary for clients who have a large body size and for clients with a lot of body hair (since it may be more difficult to remove the substance from the hair).
