The cosmological principle calls for the distribution of galaxies to be homogeneous. On the large scale, is this true?

What will be an ideal response?

No; the superclusters of galaxies seem to form sheets and walls, with a frothy appearance on the grandest of scales. There are also huge, apparently empty voids between the superclusters of galaxies; the explanation of this inconsistency is still unknown.
